    Job Title - QA Manager Salary - £40,000 - £50,000
    Location - Birmingham (Fully Remote)
    Relocation/Sponsorship - No Visa sponsorship
    Perm/Contract - Permanent

    As the QA Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the quality assurance process and driving the delivery of top-notch gaming experiences.

    You will lead several teams of QA testers in both co-development and internal projects, establish testing methodologies, create and maintain test plans, and train senior QA to own projects themselves.

    Team Leadership &

    Staff Training:

    Manage, lead and mentor QA testers, providing guidance, training, support, and feedback to ensure the team's effectiveness and productivity.


    Test Planning:

    Help develop, then delegate the ownership of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies based on project requirements and objectives.

    Coordinate and oversee the execution of test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of all game features, functionalities, and platforms.
    Help to prioritize and assign bugs, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

    Regression Testing:

    Where needed, conduct regression testing to verify bug fixes, and help ensure that new features do not introduce unintended side effects.

    Assist in creation and maintenance of regression test patterns across varied client projects.

    Compatibility Testing:

    Establish and maintain our capacity for performance compatibility testing across various platforms and hardware configurations to ensure a consistent gaming experience.

    Document and communicate test results, including defects, issues, and potential risks, to relevant stakeholders (internal and external).

    Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and quality enhancement within the QA team and across the development pipeline.


    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Collaborate closely with development teams, including producers, leads, and individual programmers, artists, and designers, to understand project requirements and facilitate effective communication throughout the QA process.

    Develop internal test reporting structures that highlight key QA deadlines and priorities in test. 7+ years of experience in quality assurance/testing roles, preferably in the video game industry.
    ~4+ years of proven experience in supporting and managing a team of QA testers, with a strong focus on team development and performance optimization.
    ~ Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing techniques, and best practices.
    ~ Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality gaming experiences.
    ~ Passion for video games and a solid understanding of gaming platforms, genres, and player expectations.


    Bonus Experience/Skills:
    An understanding of stakeholder management, both internal and external.

    An understanding of the pressures and complexities of co-development testing, as well as the needs and maintenance of co-development testing teams.
