    WHAT TO EXPECT

    JLR currently have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join their Data Analytics, Prognostics & Toolset Team which sit within the Powertrain area of their ever-evolving business.

    The Data Analytics, Prognostics & Toolset Team is responsible for supporting the Propulsion Calibration & Controls department with the development of propulsion calibration, simulation toolsets, processes and procedures for streamlining calibration development, data analytics and improving working relationships with suppliers.

    The team is leading cloud-based calibration activities internally and externally with major suppliers through the use of Python and SQL based toolsets - with interactions between ETAS INCA, AVL CRETA, Python, JavaScript and the Google Cloud Platform.

    The ability to future proof the software using a forward-thinking approach and understanding the companywide vision is essential to maintaining/improving the current toolsets whilst developing new features & functions for a constantly changing environment.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Taking a lead role in developing cloud-based and desktop toolsets to import, visualize, check and improve the calibration and engineering process.
  • Develop systems to allow communication between different company software, such as ETAS INCA, AVL CRETA, cloud databases, in-house developed software/toolsets & cloud-based architectures.
  • Manage the reporting of calibration, vehicle log and diagnostic data against targets/rulesets to create standardised reports that establish a robust image of the calibration quality.
  • Leading the conversion of desktop-based Matlab toolsets into desktop & cloud-based Python toolsets in-line with company/data analytics best practice to improve speed and quality of data processing.
  • WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Essential:

  • Software development experience – full-stack developer with experience in python and a front-end framework such as Angular or React.
  • Experience with cloud computing - preferably in Google Cloud or AWS.
  • An interest in process improvement - analysing existing processes and using software and automation to deliver efficiency and quality enhancements.
  • Knowledge of the CI/CD processes in software development as well as SQL, MySQL, and database administration.
  • Experience in the automotive sector – powertrain calibration or a different product engineering area.
