An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Trust Secretary following the promotion of the current postholder.

The Trust Secretary role is a pivotal one within the organisation. We are looking for someone dynamic to be the key advisor to the Board on matters of corporate governance.

The potholder will provide a range of effectives administrative support services to the Chair, Board of Directors, CEO and Executive Team.


The Trust Secretary will be expected to:

  • Ensure that the Trust Board and its sub-committee are managed effectively and efficiently and in accordance with Trust and legal requirements.
  • Support the Chief Executive in fulfilling their responsibilities with regard to good governance and preparing relevant briefings, papers, and reports on their behalf.
  • Lead the information governance team & the provision and management of legal services across the organisation.
  • Work closely with Board/Trust Secretaries in partner organisations to share best practice, ensuring a progressive approach to corporate governance within the organisation


You will have substantial experience providing secretarial and administrative support at Board/Senior Management/ Governing Body level and have a proven track record to developing effective working relationships at Board level.

You will ideally hold or be working towards a relevant qualification or working towards one (Chartered Secretary or Chartered Governance Professional) You will have substantial knowledge of governance procedures and legislation.
