    Head of Product Development, Automotive

    Location: Loughborough

    Salary - £65-85,000 per annum with additional benefits

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the product development efforts within the Automotive Product development team

    Oversee the technical development and integration of fuel cells for use in a wide range of automotive applications.

    Lead a team that encompasses product development across different product ranges within the automotive sector, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, and trucks.

    Provide technical direction and define roadmaps for product development, ensuring alignment with future projects and innovations.

    Interface with OEMs and other external parties, requiring strong communication and negotiation skills to manage expectations and relationships effectively.

    What experience do I need:

    1. Demonstrable Auto Product Development Experience: Proven track record in automotive product development, especially with electric and hybrid vehicles. Experience with the entire lifecycle from prototype to commercialization is essential.

    2. Technical Leadership: Ability to provide clear technical direction and roadmap development. Must possess a deep understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles.

    3. Strong People Leadership: Experience leading and developing technical teams. Must be capable of nurturing talent and leading through technical leads to achieve project goals.

    4. Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving: A degree of innovation is required to see the bigger picture and manage the deployment of automotive technology in new applications, such as stationary power units.

    5. Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management: Must be credible and confident in front of OEMs and senior management, with the ability to manage expectations and negotiate effectively.

    Qualifications:

    Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    A focus on product development within an automotive environment ideally with experience in hybrid, electric or fuel cell technologies considered a strong plus.
