We are on the hunt is for an experienced Accounts Receivable Assistant to join global media giant on a full-time basis.

The role will be responsible for the cash book function, maintenance of customer accounts, invoicing and debt chasing.

They must have excellent attention to detail, be resourceful and have a proven record of managing a complex cash book and credit control.

Ability to work well with others and strong communication skills are essential to this role.


Responsibilities

  • Updating the cashbook on a daily basis, saving down support and accurately posting entries into the accounting system
  • Working with the Sales Ledger Manager to maintain customer accounts, ensuring remittance is obtained and cash matched in a timely manner
  • Understanding the implications of withholding tax when allocating cash, accurately updating the cashbook and posting cash
  • Working closely with the Sales Ledger Manager to reduce current debtors, ensuring overdue invoices are chased in a timely manner and escalated as required
  • Understanding the invoicing process and assisting the Sales Ledger Manager with billing when required
  • Preparing reports/updates and organising regular meetings with the Sales Ledger Manager to cover bad debts, cash on account and anything else that might require further attention
  • Posting of invoices into the accounting system
  • Account opening for new customers, other ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements:


  • Proven experience managing a complex cashbook
  • Proven experience chasing debt with results
  • Organisational skills and a high attention to detail
  • That they are a selfstarter who can work to tight deadlines and are quick to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels within the Company
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Experience in television distribution/licensing (preferred)
  • Experience of Octopus PMI (preferred)
