Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier with a leading law firm in Maidstone, covering all aspects of client and office accounting cashiering duties.

You must have recent and relevant experience working as a Legal Cashier and will be responsible for the following:

  • Accurately processing all receipts and payments across the firm's accounts, in accordance with firm policy and SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliation work
  • Processing both client account and office account payments using the firm's online banking facility
  • Posting client and office account receipts and payments to the firm's financial system, in accordance with firm policy and assisting to resolve any queries arising
  • Processing of inputting disbursements incurred on behalf of Client work through the firm's purchase ledger system
  • Payment of disbursements, including ensuring these are paid when required under the SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Processing of business supplier invoices through the firm's purchase ledger system
  • Payments to creditors either by BACS or cheque in accordance with agreed payment terms
  • Reconciliation of statements from suppliers and resolving all queries arising
  • Processing of staff expense claims through the firm's purchase ledger system and organising reimbursement payments
  • Maintaining supplier records in the finance system, to ensure all postings and payments are accurately recorded and paid correctly
  • Assisting with other day to day cashiering duties, including Solicitors Accounts Rules compliance
  • Minimum of 2 years cashiering / purchase ledger experience within a law firm
  • Working knowledge of the Solicitor Accounts rules requirements
  • Knowledge of accounting packages and processes
  • Knowledge of using online business banking systems
  • Understanding of VAT regulations
