    Description

    An exceptionally well-funded privately owned property investment and development company is looking to appoint a head of land acquisition for its logistics and commercial property division.

    You will be a dynamic and deal-focused land and development executive who is ideally working for a leading logistics developer or a top 3 west-end agency providing advice or selling land to logistics developers.

    Since inception 10 + years ago the business has operated across multiple asset classes but the logistics and commercial property functions is expanding rapidly.

    The head office is in London and they are a real estate investment fund with a track record of securing and buying sites across the UK and achieving significant planning gain. They already have a number of high-profile sites under agreement with 1 of these about to be sold back out to a leading European last-mile logistics developer.

    You will report directly to the managing director and be tasked with sourcing opportunities. You will be a very ambitious, money-motivated land buyer who is a deal junky. You will love sourcing off-market sites where a large profit can be made and be exceptional at beating the competition to the deals.

    The business is a very dynamic and entrepreneurial one and as such you will be given a high level of autonomy to grow and develop the business unit as you see fit. This is a real opportunity to grow and develop your career to the managing director level at a fast pace.

    Critically and firstly you will be a born deal maker and have a track record of doing 3-4 land deals a year.

    Responsibilities

    • Sourcing off-market land for purchase in the logistics development space
    • Keeping contact with logistic operators and developer
    • Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents of potential purchases
    • Overseeing legal, planning and design consultants pre and post-acquisition
    • Keeping up to date with town planning policy and specifically in key areas you are targeting for letter writing

    Key Requirements

    • Degree-qualified and ideally property-related
    • Natural born deal maker doing 3-4 land deals a year consistently.
    • Experienced Land executive who has a demonstratable deal sheet in the logistics space.
    • Currently working for either a national logistics developer or high profile investor or agency.
    • Detailed understanding of the planning application and appeals process.
    • A strong network of contacts in the land agency world.
    • Determined, hungry and ambitious.
    • Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team.
