Description
Aberdeen Maternity Hospital theatre team require dynamic, person centred and forward thinking Staff Nurses/ODPs to join us. As these posts are to cover maternity leave, we are offering them as an opportunity for those with foundational peri-operative skills, to gain experience and development in the obstetric specialty.
We require either HCPC registered ODPs or NMC registered nurses, with a background in theatre and a strong interest in the obstetric specialty. Overseas applicants MUST have PIN numbers for either HCPC or NMC AND demonstrable competence in all 3 peri-operative phases otherwise they will not be shortlisted .
We are available for our patients on a 24/7 basis, therefore the successful candidates would be able to cover 12 hour shifts- days, nights and weekends. There will be the opportunity to rotate through women's services and become competent in the operative delivery of those specialties.
Good team working skills are essential, as is an interest in the care of patients undergoing obstetric, gynaecological and breast theatre procedures. Experience would be desirable, however, a keen interest in women's services, along with the drive to learn and maintain professional development is paramount. We offer training across all areas of perioperative practice and have some very exciting future opportunities, including the opportunity to be a part of the opening and development of a world class operating suite.
The posts are fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave, however, there is scope for the successful candidates to become permanent during that time or to extend the post.
