Relations with other departments:

You will be expected to work alongside professional colleagues and local managers to ensure the efficient running of services and with other clinical practitioners from multiple disciplines.

The Directorate of HIV/GUM and Dermatology works closely with a number of other departments including general medical specialities (e.g. dermatology, neurology), cancer services, liaison psychiatry, substance misuse, gynaecology, children's services, maternity services, urology and ophthalmology. There is also liaison and joint research with the pathology departments.


Teaching:

Postgraduate and undergraduate students are regularly attached to the departments of HIV Medicine and General Medicine and there are teaching facilities on site.

Wednesday morning is allocated as protected departmental teaching time for clinical staff.


Study and Training:
Successful applicants will be assigned a clinical supervisor.

Although the post is not educationally approved, the post-holder will have access to the same departmental educational sessions as their counterparts in approved training programmes.

The possession of MRCP is not an essential requirement of these appointments. Clinical Fellows are encouraged to involve themselves in audit and research projects.
