    Job Title: Dental Nurse at Chelsea & Westminster Foundation Trust

    An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled dental nurse to join the team at The Paediatric Dental Department of Chelsea & Westminster Foundation Trust.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work well in a team as well as independently. This position involves working with children and special needs patients, so experience and interest in this area would be beneficial. GDC registration as a DCP is a must.

    Main Duties:

    • Assist in new patient consultations, general anaesthetics, and treatment clinics.

    The Dental Nurse role at Chelsea and Westminster requires collaboration with the Paediatric multidisciplinary team to provide top-notch dental care to patients, including those with complex needs.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist clinicians with various dental treatments and procedures.
    • Maintain a hygienic and safe department environment.
    • Ensure child-friendly surroundings in the department.
    • Manage stock levels and equipment maintenance.
    • Train and supervise junior dental nurses
    • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
    • Provide patient education on oral health and care.
    • Assist with research or audit tasks.
    • Attend training sessions and relevant courses.

    Education & Qualifications

    Essential:

    • Registered, Qualified Dental Nurse

    Experience

    Essential:

    • Experience in paediatric dental nursing.
    • Evidence of continuous professional development.
    • Experience with special needs children.
    • Experience in a multi-disciplinary and diverse community.
    • Proficiency in orthodontic nursing.

      • Desirable:

    • Experience in hospital-based dental nursing.
    • Experience with sedation or general anaesthesia.

    Skills and Knowledge

    Essential:

    • Thorough knowledge of infection control procedures.
    • Understanding of dental procedures and oral health.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good IT knowledge.
