Sheridan Maine are recruiting for an experienced and immediately available Systems Accountant to join our client on a 4 month Fixed Term Contract.

This is a predominately remote role, with an occasional visit to the Head Office in Poole.

The key remit of this role is to support the Finance Systems and Projects team with implementation activities and training as required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Extract, review, merge and prepare loads to their Company systems for standing data including chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, banks, etc.
  • Extract, reconcile, and prepare loads to their systems for transactional history data
  • Reconcile open items at all data load points for customers, suppliers, banks and control accounts
  • Design interface specifications as required for the IT team, test and implement interfaces delivered by the IT team
  • Prepare and deliver security role profiles for users of the financial systems
  • Prepare, maintain and present project plans for the merger activities consulting with project stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver training plans for end users
  • Provide post Golive support, training and assistance as required
  • Support the project team and wider business on systems accounting issues

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Qualified member of a CCAB body (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) is essential
  • Experience and sound knowledge of financial implementations is essential
  • Expert level Excel skills & experience and knowledge of multiple financial systems, ideally including Sun is essential
  • Other desirable areas of expertise include:
  • An understanding of the housing industry would be an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of VAT
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work with different teams across finance and development operations with understanding of the different needs and requirements of the group's various stakeholders
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage own workload to meet both team and business objectives
