Seasonal Instructors – Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre
The Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre is a well-established charitable multi-activity centre providing a wide range of land and water-based activities to customers from the Plymouth area and beyond.
The Centre commands stunning views looking out towards Plymouth's historic Barbican, the Hoe and across to Mount Edgcumbe.It is perfectly situated on the tidal estuary of the Sound making it an ideal, and safe, location for the thousands of people, of all ages, that use the Centre each year.
The Centre has a small, friendly, dedicated and highly experienced team, always on hand to ensure that visitors have an enjoyable time in a safe and welcoming environment.
The Mount Batten Centre is seeking applications from instructors for a seasonal 6-month contract March 2024 – September 2024 (with the possibility of contract extensions).
The key responsibilities of these posts will include the delivery of adventurous activities to a broad spectrum of client groups, maintenance of activity equipment, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
Desirable QualificationsA range of instructional qualifications is preferred but as a guideline one National Governing Body (NGB) instructor qualification is required from the list below, and/or significant previous experience of our activities.
NGB Training and assessments may be provided subject to individual requirements as part of a pre-season training programme.Proven experience in the outdoor education sector
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work with both adults and young people
