    The Engineering Manager (EM) will lead our clients Engineering department and will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining our Engineering Systems (to AS9100 and Sabre4), driving our product and systems conformance.

    The EM will directly manage and lead the Engineering team, comprising of CAD/CAM development engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and NPI Engineers to deliver engineered systems to manufacturing in compliance with its identified requirements (Producibility, Productivity, Cost, Schedule, Regulatory/Customer/HSE requirements) and adherence to Zero Defect Manufacturing standards.


    Responsible for managing, development and introduction of New Products, in a profitable and efficient manner, on time to project parameters.

    Work with Customers to liaise on engineering aspects for products, including creating Non-Conformance to drawing approval requests (Deviation Permit (DP), MVA, Concession etc)

    Manage a team of CAD/CAM and manufacturing engineers to manage new and existing products onto the shopfloor.

    Work with facilities management to make sure CNC systems are suitable and able to produce parts RFT

    Generate and implement plans for out-of-hours running on specific CNC system

    You may be required to work alternative shifts / hours


    You may be required to perform any other reasonable duties/specific projects from time to time and as directed by management.

    Liaising with Customers on engineering issues, especially with customer MEs.

    General duties:

    Technical expertise in Design & Manufacturing Engineering, with a relevant professional qualification (BSc, BEng, MSc) in Engineering (eg. Aerospace, Mechanical)

    Strong drawing understanding (GD&T, special processes, coating)

    Experience of managing New Product / Process introduction (NPI) industrialisation & existing production process improvements

    Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships within a global organisation.

    Significant experience in Engineering and demonstrated ability in a leadership position with evidence of delivering significant improvements in terms of cost/quality of engineering systemsb

    An approachable manner and able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally

    Strong inter personal and relationship building abilities

    A hands-on approach and 'get it done' attitude


    • Familiarity with CNC systems - 3/4/5 axis Milling, Turning and Grinding.
    Working knowledge of LEAN processes and practices

    Agile Methodologies

    Solid understanding of industrial Aerospace manufacturing systems and processes, including treatments and the characteristics of varied raw materials (Aluminium, Steels, Titaniums & Exotics)

    Knowledge of Solidworks/SolidCAM (CAD/CAM), Vericut

    Familiarity with EDM and Wire Cut systems.

    Knowledge of robotics and lights out methodologies for machining.

    Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9001, AS9100 into a Quality Management System (QMS), Aerospace Regulations

    Able to use/familiarity of ERP systems

    Understanding of Project Management processes and systems
