What you need to know

We are looking for a motivated and experienced HSE Advisor to join our Team.**Our facility on Beacon Park in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth combines office and manufacturing facilities engaged in the delivery of industrial controls equipment for the energy market. Manufactured equipment includes hydraulic/pneumatic pressure, low-voltage electricity, lifting, welding and manual handling elements amongst others. Due to the nature of the role and what we do, the expectation is that you would be based in this office.

Our HSE Advisor will be able to:

  • Demonstrates understanding and identification of appropriate risks and carries out risk mitigating activities.
  • Attend handover meetings.
  • Coordinate and identify training requirements.
  • Generate reports for the management team and clients.
  • Generate HSE Alerts.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Report against targets and objectives for the site, providing communication and interpretation and facilitating improvement.
  • Support local HSE initiatives, ensuring improvement projects contribute towards business objectives and deliver results.
  • Generate audit schedules and carry out internal, support supplier audit.

  • Proactively manage all submitted nonconformances relating to HSE, ensuring those that warrant it have an effective root cause analysis carried out, with the objective of implementing permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Carry out analysis, reporting and generate improvement plans.
  • Ensure the HSE content of the GBMS is robust, effective and adhered to.
  • Provide guidance for establishing HSE processes.
  • Fundamental awareness of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 together with any other standards that become necessary to the operation of the business.
  • Take part in process generation and review meetings as required.
  • Able to generate and provide training to all levels of the business on specific topics.
  • Able to generate standard reports aligned to business and client requirements.
  • Review new supplier requests and approvals aligned to company requirements.
  • Review safety performance of suppliers as applicable to determine ongoing approval.
  • Encourage the use of organisational tools provided to identify specific opportunities for improvement ensure these are recorded, prioritised and actioned.
Health, Safety

  • Work with the QHSE Manager to establish a local strategy for Health and Safety aligned to global strategy.
  • Demonstrate leadership to influence the behaviours of others within aspects of Health and Safety.
  • Carry out incident investigations.
  • Able to identify applicable and validity of legislation.
  • Able to carry out legislative auditing and monitoring activities.
  • Able to influence, explain and adapt to the current safety culture.
  • Support supplier audits to monitor supplier safety performance.
Environment

  • Work with the QHSE Manager to establish a local strategy for Environment aligned to global strategy.
  • Demonstrate leadership to influence the behaviours of others within aspects of Environment.
  • Carry out incident investigations.
  • Able to identify applicable and validity of legislation.
  • Able to carry out legislative auditing and monitoring activities.
  • Able to influence, explain and adapt to the current environmental culture.
  • Able to demonstrate some data collection techniques relevant to environmental monitoring.

Education & Experience**
Essential

  • Internal auditor trained.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
  • Internal auditor trained.

Preferred

  • NEBOSH certificate
  • Lead auditor trained

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • High level of IT skills

Preferred
