Breakthrough in Education have a really exciting new role to offer, working in a specialised and modern SEN school in the Ipswich area.

We are looking to find an experienced, dynamic, and passionate teaching assistant who wants to make a difference to the pupils lives on a daily basis.


This school provides a specialist and focused educational setting, with a high intake of autistic pupils and those with Social, Emotional or Mental health needs.

The schools aim is to enrich the lives of its students, by creating a nurturing environment where pupils can thrive and grow in independence and self-esteem.


Anyone with an interest in autism or mental health will excel in this role, this school can provide a unique assistant teaching experience, with the chance to genuinely connect with and learn about the pupils you are working with.


  • Experience of working with young people with autism
  • Experience with techniques such as PECs and Makaton is preferred but not essential
  • A passion for helping young people
  • Behaviour management experience
  • Calm and caring approach
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference
  • Ability to engage well with pupils and teachers

The role:


  • Working with a team of TAs and a Teacher with class sizes of 810 pupils.
  • Supporting the teacher to help the pupils reach their educational goals
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and keeping the class tidy
  • Working 1:1 with pupils and in small groups
  • Adapting a creative approach to encourage learning

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract


Salary:
£70.00-£85.00 per day


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
