    About the Role:

    Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of households in Belfast? Join Belfast City Council as a Home Safety and Fuel Stamps Project Officer.

    This role plays a pivotal part in the efficient implementation of Belfast City Council's initiatives, focusing on home safety checks and the Oil Fuel Stamp Scheme.

    You'll work closely with various agencies and communities, making a real impact on reducing risks and improving safety standards.


    Your Duties:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Home Safety Checks.
    • Conduct home safety inspections, providing advice and necessary equipment to households.
    • Maintain accurate records of visits, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with different agencies for referrals and support services.
    • Deliver safety presentations and workshops to community groups.
    • Fuel Stamp Scheme.
    • Assist in developing and implementing the Oil Fuel Stamp Scheme across the city.
    • Monitor scheme activities, resolve issues, and encourage participation.
    • Liaise with outlets, oil companies, and communities to promote the scheme.
    • Manage scheme-related communications, website upkeep, and media engagement.

    General:

    • Support departmental activities, administrative duties, and enquiries.
    • Prepare reports, conduct research, and coordinate with relevant sectors.
    • Motivate and manage assigned staff, ensuring effective service delivery.
    • Uphold council policies, procedures, and legislation compliance.

    Your Profile:

    Essential Criteria:

    • Full, valid Northern Ireland driving license and access to a vehicle for official use.
    • Either
    • Third level qualification in relevant fields (business studies, marketing, communications, etc.)
    with a minimum of one year of experience in advising consumers, interagency collaboration, and delivering community group presentations. Or alternatively, a demonstration of at least two years of experience in each of the aforementioned areas.

    Assignment Details:

    • Location: Cecil Ward Building, Belfast.
    • Type: Full-time, Temporary Project.
    • Hours: 37 per week.
