Description

As a Team Leader you will be responsible for the day-to-day management including workload, welfare and development of 4 members of staff and have the ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.

You will also work with the South Team Leader and Disclosure Manager to ensure that current best practice is maintained and enhance relationships with Area Enforcement Teams and the Environment Agency Legal Team.

There may also be a requirement on some occasions to perform the Disclosure Officer role.

The team

  • The Environment Agency National Disclosure Team, part of National Enforcement Services, provide disclosure resource for serious and significant waste investigations, water cases, illegal waste exports and producer responsibility investigations. The North Team are based in York and the South Team in Wallingford.
Experience/skills required

  • We would like you bring outstanding team leadership and people management skills.
  • You must be exceedingly well organised and able to juggle many aspects of people management.
  • High level of computer literacy
- particularly Microsoft Excel and maintenance of large databases.

  • Have experience of motivating and providing direction for the Team.
  • Be able to look for opportunities to improve our processes.
  • Be able to undertake difficult conversations with staff in the Legal department and investigators in relation to disclosure issues.
  • Have an understanding of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 and associated legislation.
