As part of DCC's procurement transformation, we are seeking an experienced Contract Support Officer who has experience of working in a commercial environment with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills.


What will you be doing?

  • Work directly with Contract Manager/s to manage up to 2 complex supplier contracts (with an average lifecycle of 10 years) with a value of >£5m
  • Lead on the monitoring and management of both supplier and DCC obligations (up to 2000 per supplier contract) to ensure that they are met which includes maintaining action logs with suppliers, reporting and coordination of associated correspondence and meetings
  • Responsible for the effective management of the processes underpinning successful completion of Contract Change Requests and Project Requests including coordinating internal stakeholder (across all DCC functions) and external supplier input as appropriate for up to 10 changes a year with a value of >£4m, and ensuring adherence to internal governance and material controls processes
  • Accountable for inputs on behalf of Contract Management team into functional registers for risk, noncompliant activity, commercial cost savings, milestone, and Change Request tracking. Ensuring there is a comprehensive audit trail and justifications for price control
  • Accountable for ensuring all documentation and contract interpretation information relating to contract disputes /issue resolution, contractual penalties and levers are stored within the relevant document repository.

What are we looking for?
Technical

  • Experience in leading and facilitating the compliance to contracts
  • Able to prioritize work, meet deadlines and targets
  • Strong desire to learn and develop in the Commercial / Supply Chain areas
  • Strong attention to details and proven ability to work in an open / auditable way fitting to a regulated environment
Interpersonal

  • Strong written and verbal communication. Able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to consistently use initiative and influence stakeholders in a complex environment
