An exciting opportunity has become available for a clinical support assistant in the adult learning disability service.


A team made up of a wide range of MDT principles with a friendly specialist approach to supporting individuals with a learning disability maintain independence within the community.

Over coming health inequalities and promoting well being our team has the fortunate opportunity to enhance the lives of our patients.


To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities under the direction of a registered practitioner.

The overall responsibility for the service user remains, at all times with the registered practitioner.


To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.

To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.

To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.

A new and exciting role has been developed within the service for a clinical support assistant.

Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS foundation trust are proud to support people with a learning disability in the community offering a multi-disciplinary team with a range of disciplines to support holistic care for the patients we support.


The adult community learning disability service covers a wide geographical location in Cumbria and offers bases in both Lillyhall Workington, and Carlton clinic in Carlisle.


We work mainly in the community supporting patients within their own home, or supported services which includes families, carers and other support teams.
