Overall Purpose of The Job

  • Management of the daytoday communications and marketing activities to our Seafarers across Cargo, Offshore, Leisure and Oceanic, working closely with the V.Ships crew management offices and any thirdparty PR agencies appointed to support with crew communications.
    Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Oversee all Crew Communications and Marketing, including Voyage Loyalty, ensuring consistency with V. branding strategy.
  • Work closely with the Head of Communications and Director of Culture and Engagement to develop, manage and implement a Crew communications and marketing strategy, ensuring detailed planning and alignment with the V.Group comms and marketing strategy.
  • Daytoday liaison with Company appointed PR agency to ensure alignment and successful delivery of specific projects.
  • Manage Crewfocused social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc); writing and posting content; respond to comments when required.
  • Review and approve all regional social media posts prepared either internally or by external agencies to ensure consistency.
  • Promotion of our seafarer community/family activity days (pre and post event) on internal and external channels.
  • Support recruitment teams in regular vacancy posting across social media channels, drafting and ensuring consistency of recruitment advertisements.
  • Coordinate hosting of global live events/webinars, etc for seafarers produce and share recordings, attendee reports and surveys.
  • Produce posters and vessel communications for campaigns, including but not limited to safety/wellbeing/ social interaction/competitions.
  • Produce a regular newsletter (industry, company and fleet news) targeted at our Seafarer community, for distribution via the Crew app and social media channels.
  • Manage communications section on the Crew app.
  • Assist with the production of marketing materials and collateral by working closely with the V.Group Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Employer branding, including the cadet and graduate programmes, working with the V.Group Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Support the V.Group Communications and Marketing function as required.

Essential

  • Experience working in a comms or marketing role; maritime industry experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organisational and planning skills
  • Good writing skills, particularly for social media and comms/marketing collateral
  • Good practical knowledge and experience of social media channels
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing channels, SEO, PPC, social media, and content marketing strategies.
  • Creative design abilities, ideally with experience of using Canva and/or Adobe
  • Proficiency in data analysis and utilising analytics tools to measure marketing performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to different target audiences.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fastpaced and dynamic work environment; enthusiastic and quick to learn
