Description

To lead on the financial and business management of a division to ensure a balanced budget and ongoing financial viability.


To take a leading role in the senior management team for the Division, leading the budget setting process providing financial and business planning support and leadership in service redesign, formulation and evaluation of strategies and the achievement targets.

The post holder is required to work unsupervised and needs to use own initiative to make operational decisions, often without reference to others.


The post holder will have overall responsibility for providing high quality financial and business management information to budget holders within a dedicated division.


The post holder will work closely with clinicians and managers to model financial and non-financial information, using benchmarking information where appropriate, to enable informed decision making by the management teams.


The post requires communication with a large range of stakeholders including, staff across the organisation from different disciplines, senior management and directors, audit, CCGs, other trusts and NHS bodies.


The post holder directly manages at least one other member of the finance team to ensure timely and accurate production of information for budget holders, senior finance colleagues and Directors.


The post demands a significant amount of time to be spent at a VDU using keyboard skills, travel across the Trust's geographical area and attend meetings as required.
