The Mechanical Systems Authorised Person is the authority for all mechanical systems SSoW, on site and performs the day-to-day management of these systems.

Ensures that work carried out on these systems, is done so in compliance with JSP375, through management of contractors and stakeholders.

Your key experience will be:

Experience of working in large, highly complex environments, ideally with a MoD or RN customer.
375 Volume 3 for the systems, installations and locations for which they have been appointed.
Experience of presenting and communicating to various stakeholders
Qualified in managing teams safely, e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH or SMSTS
PC literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ensuring Risk assessments for the isolation of mechanical systems is prepared, and defined through a safety programme determining the correct level of control required
Knowledge of PSSR for Any Pressure System containing a relevant fluid as defined by the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), these can include:
Compressed Air
Steam systems
Pressurised hot water systems
Refrigeration Gases
Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS);
Dental Air and Vacuum Systems (DAVS);
Hydraulics
Industrial Gas.
Natural Gas

Your key competencies will be:

Ensuring compliance with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulation
Complete mechanical systems AP Courses.
Responsible Person for the Management of Fgas
Responsible Person Natural Gas.
Participates in maintenance and reliability focused on Preventative and Predictive maintenance reviews.
Provide technical Leadership and supervision, within their relevant field of expertise across Maintenance and Project Delivery teams
Be prepared to work on, an on call roster.

You'll ideally have the following qualifications, memberships etc: -

Membership of related technical professional body such as CIBSE, IMechE, IET, IMarEST.
IEng/CEng, or equivalent technical accreditation / membership.
Health and Safety training i.e.

NEBOSH/ IOSH Managing Safely, CITB SMSTS or CSCS or equivalent
