An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Psychologist to join the South Staffordshire Community Perinatal Mental Health Team.

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, and creative clinician who wants to make a difference to the lives of mothers, babies, and their wider families, and who strives to provide the best care at all times.

You will have a passion for supporting both Adult and Infant Mental Health and an understanding of how psychological interventions may be applied within this specialty.


The South Staffordshire Community Perinatal Mental Health Team are a specialist service striving to deliver an excellent standard of care to expectant and new mothers who are experiencing moderate to severe and complex mental health problems.

Our multidisciplinary team are innovative and have a patient centred approach at the heart of their delivery.

The team have close working relationships with partners both within and outside of the Trust, with close links with Maternity Services, Health Visiting, NHS Talking Therapies, CAMHS Early Years Service and other secondary care mental health services.

Clinical Psychologists play an integrative role in the MDT and are valued and well supported by colleagues.

While this post will be primarily focused on delivering psychological support to individual families (both directly and by supervising and supporting MDT colleagues) there will also be scope for delivering training and consultation to partner agencies and to being involved with other aspects of service development.

The South Staffordshire Community Mental Health Team are a part of MPFT Perinatal Services which includes Brockington Parent and Baby Unit, Shropshire Community Perinatal Mental Health Team and the Lotus Service (Maternal Mental Health Service).

There are close working relationships across perinatal services. The service has high staff retention rates supported by high workplace staff satisfaction from recent staff surveys.
