Purchasing Manager - Grantham - £40,000 - £42,500pa + Benefits

Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:


  • In your new role you will report into both the supply chain manager and CEO where you will be responsible for the procurement of materials as specified by the technical department
  • Delivering cost savings to the business through strategic sourcing and negotiation
  • Analysing and negotiating all quotes and terms and making supplier selection
  • Arrange and manage longterm supplier agreements including auditing suppliers to assess suitability
  • Generate reports/ feedback on market conditions
  • Ensuring the products are delivered on time and have key input into the expediting processes
  • Monitor and communicate supplier performance with regards to quality, delivery and price and assist QA Manager in raising/ resolving nonconformance issues
  • Assisting the Accounts Department with all invoice and account queries
  • Inputting into transport & haulage arrangements including the raising of Purchase Orders and Delivery Notes
  • Overview of the Goods Inwards Process
  • Managing a small team
  • Day to day running of the department.

Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 5pm and Friday 8:30am - 3pm (Flexible)


Required Skills & Experience:


  • Previous experience of working within either buying or procurement role is essential
  • Having worked with either manufacturing or engineering will be the key to your success
  • Ability to read technical drawings would be advantageous
  • Naturally you will have strong negotiating and communication skills
  • Scheduling and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay both reactive and proactive in the procurement role to ensure all business operations run smoothly
  • Experience with ERP system would be desirable
