Senior HR Advisor
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior HR Advisor to join our team on a full basis.

This role will be Remote with the requirement to go on London client sites on an ad hoc basis, with the London Office being your nearest AAB office.

About the Job
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our supportive and close-knit team.

The role may be suited to someone who is developing in their HR career (2-4+ years' experience) and is perhaps currently working in an internal HR role but is looking to move to a consultancy role, where the focus is on building strong relationships with clients and giving sound, commercial advice.

Alternatively, you may already work for a consultancy and be looking to move to a smaller, growing business with lots of room to grow and develop.- No one day at AAB People is the same.

We work with clients at various stages of their growth journey - whether they are starting out, an established SME, a scaling business, or a large organisation.

The dynamic environments in which our clients operate requires us to be both proactive and reactive to ensure we deliver an excellent customer service.


  • In this varied role you can expect to be working on the following tasks and duties as the main focus of your days:
  • Providing commercially focused and pragmatic advice and recommendations around day-to-day HR and employment issues that focusses on ER processes.
  • Working with clients to continuously improve their current HR set ups by recommending and assisting with implementing solutions, changes and practical tools to help them grow.
  • Helping our clients to build inclusive, welcoming and values driven cultures and working environments.
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of line managers, acting as first point of contact for HR queries and on management support and advice.
  • Prepare documentation on behalf of clients to support internal processes such as onboarding, appraisals, probation, absence management, employee relations cases, benefits administration, employment contracts, and offboarding processes.
  • Prepare, review and refresh template client toolkits and documentation.

About You
To thrive in our dynamic environment, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualities:

  • Applied knowledge of HR practice, employee relations and legislation (min. 2-4 years experience) and an understanding of how to translate this into simple, effective and practical advice and tools for clients.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to explain complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise, jargonfree manner to clients aligned to their needs and desired outcomes.
  • Excellent questioning skills to carefully understand client issues and needs in order to develop and implement tailored solutions and fulfil requirements.
  • A consultative and flexible approach with the ability to tailor solutions to requirements and take a commercial and clientfocused approach to problem solving.
  • Effective people skills building trust, rapport and confidence with clients and internally within the AAB People team.
  • Discretion and an awareness and understanding of strict confidentiality requirements.
