    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our expanding Hand Therapy team.

    This exciting new post is set across the Royal Free Hampstead and North Middlesex hospitals and the postholder will work closely with our Orthopaedic teams to develop this new across site service.

    As sole practitioner at North Middlesex hospital you will be responsible for the efficient running of this new Hand Therapy service and work closely alongside the Orthopaedic MDT gaining significant experience in the management of Hand Trauma and post operative Elective Hand surgery.

    This brand-new post will be fully integrated with our large team of Hand therapists led by our Clinical Lead Hand therapist and which includes a Consultant Hand therapist and Advanced Clinical Practice Hand therapists.

    We have a well-structured continual professional development programme combining regular in-service training, journal reviews, practical training sessions, supervision, and a frequent Complex Hand MDT meeting.

    BSc Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy


    • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for profession
    • Evidence or portfolio of post-graduate continued development in specialist clinical area
    • Substantial postgraduate experience at a Band 6 level including at least 3 years within Hand Therapy
    • Experience of delivering a range of Hand Rehabilitation Programmes
    • Experience of helping patients rehabilitate despite the presence of severe ongoing pain and associated psychological consequences.
    • Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/ clinical education
    • Experience of clinical audit and/or research
    • Excellent communication skills with a range of patients and healthcare professionals regarding complex and sensitive issues
    • Getting vaccinated, and getting a booster, remains the best defence against COVID-19.
