    Job Title: Food Technology Teacher - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) - ASC Experience

    Job Overview:
    We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for both full-time and part-time Food Technology Teachers with expertise in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) to join our team at a specialist ASC school in Gloucestershire. The successful candidates will bring a passion for culinary education and a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with ASC. This role provides the chance to make a meaningful impact by delivering tailored food technology education in a supportive environment. Immediate start available.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, deliver, and assess effective and engaging food technology lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of each student.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
    • Regularly assess and track student progress in food technology, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as required.
    • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
    • Provide constructive feedback to students and work closely with parents and caregivers to enhance the overall support system for each student.

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is preferred.
    • Experience teaching food technology to students with Autism Spectrum Conditions in a special education setting.
    • Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions for supporting individuals with ASC in food technology education.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
