    The vacancy is part time, requiring a minimum of hours across Monday - Friday. The salary is negotiable based on skills and experience.

    Main duties of the job

    Responsibilities include chronic disease management,wound care, cytology, childhood immunisations, travel vaccination, NHS HealthChecks, ECGs, assisting GPs in minor operation session, treatment room tasksincluding ear irrigation and general immunisations; delivering health promotionand health education to patients addressing key lifestyle issues smoking,weight, diet etc.

    Job responsibilities

    Job responsibilities:

    Travel Health: by providing comprehensive advice to patients prior to travel including; vaccinations and medicines, safe sex, food hygiene, sun protection.

    Childhood and adult vaccinations, offer advice and ensure vaccines are administered under patient group directions.

    Running well person clinics and health promotion programs by providing a holistic assessment and lifestyle advice on diet, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise.

    Patient health checks and clinical reviews, including but not limited to:

    o New patient health checks

    o NHS health Checks

    o Well woman & Well Man checks

    o Geriatric reviews

    o INR testing (including housebound provisions)

    o Learning Disability Checks

    o Chronic Heart Disease

    o Chronic Kidney Disease

    o Asthma Reviews

    o COPD Reviews (including spirometry)

    Perform injections including but not limited to: B12, depo (contraception), testosterone, zoladex, flu, pneumovax, shingles

    BP monitoring including hypertension reviews and 24 hour BP

    Urinalysis

    Perform cytology testing

    Provide a holistic approach to wound management and implement wound care in line with current evidence based guidelines.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Registered General Nurse
  • A demonstrable commitment to professional development
  • Desirable

  • Recognised qualification to diploma level or above
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines
  • Experience of working in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Desirable

  • Experience of multi-skilled approach to Chronic Disease Management (Long Term Conditions)
  • Evidence of involvement in Research and Developing
  • At least 1 year recent Primary and Community Nursing experience
  • Experience of EMIS WEB Clinical Systems
  • Experience of audit
