We are recruiting for an Indirects Buyer to join the Category team based in Rushden Northampton.

The Category Management team are responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiating, and contracting of goods and services to maximise opportunities and minimise risk to Kier.

The Category Buyer will report to the Category Manager and will be responsible for managing several indirect category areas.

This role as Indirects Buyer would also suit Category Buyer, Indirect Procurement Buyer and Product Buyer

Key Responsibilities:

Working with our internal stakeholders and the wider business; investigate, develop, and instigate framework agreement improvements where appropriate
Using the category management toolbox and market information in the selection and appointment of Suppliers/Contracts
Develop and implement sourcing strategies, utilising the category management lifecycle process to ensure risks are mitigated and opportunities realised
Ensuring all suppliers identified can meet Kier's policies and accreditations
Draft, negotiate and agree clear and concise contractual documentation
Plan the negotiating strategy, understanding both the leverage and risk, whilst developing options to finalise a contract deal successfully
Develop robust contract management by assessing contractual compliance of both parties
Continuous monitoring of the market, benchmarking costs of nominated category areas
Developing category and sourcing strategies for specific category areas, gather data, consult with stakeholders, and identify the business needs through collaboration and detailed category plans

Who we are looking for:

Experience of working in a procurement environment with category management of indirect products and services
Strong negotiation skills
Knowledge of running tenders and the contracting process
Accomplished at reviewing contract law, ability to review terms and conditions prior to obtaining specialist legal and technical advice
Skilled with contract management and performance reporting, vendor and supply chain management profiling, category management principles
