We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare assistant to join our well established and high performing team.Candidates should have primary care experience and be able to meet the majority of the responsibilities included in the job description.

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include
Patienthealth checks and clinical reviews, including but not limited to:
New patient healthchecks
NHS health Checks
Well woman & WellMan checks
Geriatric reviews
INR testing(including housebound provisions)
Learning DisabilityChecks
Controlled Chronic Disease reviews
ECGrecording
Phlebotomy (including housebound provision)
Chaperoningduties
BPmonitoring including hypertension reviews and 24 hour BP
Urinalysis
B12and flu injections
Dressingof wounds including suture and clip removal
Weightmonitoring
Providelifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals within the practice
Helpingto raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Restocking/maintenanceof equipment
Restockingof clinical areas and consulting rooms including clearing
Processingand management of own laboratory samples
Fridgemonitoring and recording
Surgicalequipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Preparingand maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patientcare interventions including assisting GP/Nurse during the performance of minoroperations, coil insertions and implants
Emergencyequipment and doctors box monitoring, calibration and ordering

Assistingwith the collection of data on needs related to health and well-being (appropriatereadcoding including templates)
Ensurespecimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessarypaperwork completed
Emergencyequipment and doctors box (emerg meds) monitoring, calibration and ordering
Ensuresawareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, includingsystems of referral. Ability torecognise signs and symptoms of child and adult abuse.
Ableto recognise and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines.
Ableto perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guidelines.
Abilityto obtain and document informed consent (either verbal or written).
Reportingof significant events and where necessary, attend meeting
Administration support such as bowel screening / smear screening / review recalling where required
