Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent, full-time basis.


As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of their employees and maintaining compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

This is a vital position within their organisation, and they are looking for someone who is passionate about promoting a safe work environment.


Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Provide training to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving safety performance.
  • Stay uptodate with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to workplace safety.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including trends, areas for improvement, and recommendations for action.
  • Liaise with Clients on Health and Safety queries.
  • Complete prequalification questionnaires and tender enquiries.
  • Travel to multiple sites.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in report writing and data analysis.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of accidents or
- incidents.

  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving abilities.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Technician grade membership of IOSH.
  • Must be available for immediate start.
