The vacancy


Reporting to the
Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the
Shipping Coordinator will coordinate our shipments, ensuring the coordination of logistics to meet business needs.

You will ensure the efficient movement of goods into the business and outward to fulfil customer requirements to meet on time delivery.


Duties will include;

  • Work closely with operational colleagues in a warehouse environment.
  • Produce and check essential shipping documentation required by group partners, customers and suppliers, including customs documents, Invoices and packing lists.
  • Update the shipping database accurately and timely.
  • Liaise and coordinate with agents, customers and freight forwarders in line with business expectation post Brexit.
  • Coordinate with freight, Hauliers and customs agents to ensure the business remains fully compliant.
  • Build and grow our relationship with our external logistics providers
  • Book vehicles and coordinate transport
  • Review our shipping costs and provide recommendations / improvements.
  • You will generate Import/Export booking confirmations and arrival notices. IE EUR1, LOC, HS codes
  • Prepare all documents for clearance and tracking entries.
  • Keep shipping records for auditing and monitoring purposes.

What are the skills/experience needed?

  • Must have a good knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Good knowledge of HS codes and how they work.
  • It would be beneficial to have experience in moving high value goods.
  • Experience in Air, Sea and Road freight both in/outbound.
  • Experience of shipping into the EU as a minimum, Middle East and North Africa would be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft package skills,
  • SAP/ERP systems experience.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment.

Working closely with the warehouse department, the Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of all shipping activities in and out of the UK to EU, Middle East and North Africa.

Work closely with operational colleagues in a warehouse environment.

Person Specification:
