Cost & Project Engineer - Manufacturing - Up to £38,000
About the Company
We are currently working exclusively with an established manufacturing business to identify and recruit a Cost & Project Engineer.
The Cost & Project Engineer will be responsible for the day to day costing of manufactured items, as well as longer term improvement projects, including Cost Reduction and Process Improvement initiatives.
You will take responsibility for scheduling, planning,forecasting and managing project activities within the manufacturing environment, aimed at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
This role offers a diverse development opportunity and would suit a Graduate calibre individual with - 3 years commercial experience and a desire to broaden their manufacturing knowledge and project management skills.

Cost & Project Engineer - Requirements
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent within an Engineering, Manufacturing or Business discipline
- At least 2 years commercial experience, ideally gained within a similar environment
- Good understanding of the manufacturing process
- Experience of process improvement and cost reduction initiatives would be highly desirable
- Selfmotivated, with the ability to motivate others around you
- Confident communicator with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business
Cost & Project Engineer - Responsibilities
- Understand product manufacturing processes and develop cost estimates by analysing how much an item should cost to manufacture. Clearly understand the cost drivers involved such as Material, Time, Labour, Machine and Overhead costs.
- Take responsibility and ownership of a wide variety of projects, managing these projects within across functional team including NPD, Technical, Quality, Operations, Sales and Purchasing departments.
- Facilitate meetings and brainstorming sessions as part of project management tasks.
- Issue quotations of cost estimates to Sales team as per requests.
- Regular review purchased materials costs to keep the costing system uptodate.
