POST TITLE:
Fire Door Inspector x 10 temps




PAYE RATE :
£22.43 ph ( £ % holiday pay entitlement)

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Work in collaboration with the Fire Safety Officer and the rest of the team to implement a comprehensive communal fire door inspection program for the Housing sections residential blocks.

Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of the service, while also being accountable for achieving operational key performance indicators related to communal door inspections.


  • To carry out fire door inspections at regular intervals, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and arranging necessary repairs to ensure compliance.
Provide excellent customer service and technical advice for the fire door inspection program.

Record all inspections, recommendations, and remedial actions to maintain a comprehensive audit trail. Collaborate with other departments to establish control systems for surveys, inspections, and fire door repairs. Travel efficiently to conduct routine inspections of communal fire doors and meet operational requirements.

Identify opportunities for service improvements and recommend changes to improve efficiency. Stay informed about current legislation, best practices, and construction industry developments, and attend relevant workshops and focus groups.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers. Attend and contribute to corporate and departmental health and safety committees and working group meetings.


Requirements:


Qualifications and Knowledge Requirements:


  • Fire Door Inspection training / qualification or similar relevant experience (with a willingness to work toward a qualification)
  • Experience of working within a health and safety/inspection environment within a local authority or similar organisation
  • Homeless assessments and reviews; o Homeless prevention and housing advice; o Temporary Accommodation management, maintenance, Housing Supply and procurement; o Lettings and the Housing Register; o Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction
