    A highly reputable and well-established Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Second in Charge (2ic) to join the permanent staff list of their outstanding school in Brent. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented individual to further their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

    The successful candidate will support the Head of the English Department in leading and managing the department, contributing to the ongoing success and high standards of teaching and learning. This role involves both teaching responsibilities and leadership duties, ensuring the continuous improvement and development of the English curriculum and student outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the leadership and management of the English Department.
    • Support the Head of Department in implementing strategies to improve teaching and learning.
    • Deliver high-quality English lessons across key stages, fostering a love for literature and language.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where necessary.
    • Contribute to the professional development of staff within the department.
    • Lead on specific projects or initiatives as directed by the Head of Department.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and methodologies.

    Requirements:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in English or a related field.
    • Proven track record of successful teaching experience in secondary education.
    • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
    • Experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting is desirable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
    • A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team.
