Role Summary


In light of NEF's ongoing expansion, we're on the lookout for a Marketing Officer to team up with the Marketing Manager in spreading the word about our endeavours in energy efficiency, home retrofit, and tackling fuel poverty.

A key part of this role is the role is to curate and champion our social media presence.

We're seeking applicants who not only understand the inner workings of platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter but can also weave compelling narratives that resonate with specific audiences.

Collaborating closely with the Marketing Manager and our project teams, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive social media strategy.

Your responsiveness to timely developments and seizing opportunities will be key as you help amplify our voice.


Beyond your social media responsibilities, you will be entrusted with the management of content for NEF's blog, you will play an integral role in shaping newsletter content, drafting press releases, and copy for promotional articles.

Your contributions will also extend to creating content on our websites and leading on the impact we celebrate during our team meetings.


You will likely further support the Marketing Manager in researching marketing opportunities, helping organise internal and external events and working with third parties to gather key information to help deliver the overall NEF marketing plan.


We're looking for someone with - 2 years' experience in marketing, who has a passion for creating engaging content, an interest in sustainability and the potential to develop a successful career in marketing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create social media content for all NEF platforms and help set up new channels to grow NEF's reach.
  • Research and write blog content for NEF websites
  • Work with press outlets to create press releases, editorial and advertorial content promoting NEF projects
  • Work with project teams to measure impact and create monthly impact presentation
  • Update company websites and work with Marketing Manager to design and deliver new websites and website content.
  • Led by the Marketing Manager, undertake research on marketing opportunities and outlets, gather information and pricing.

Person Specification

  • Excellent verbal communications skills and confidence when talking to people at all levels.
  • Good understanding of social media and the ability to devise and deliver engaging content for multiple platforms
  • Ability to write accurate, confident and engaging copy that always sets the right tone.
  • Interest in home energy, sustainability and renewables.
  • Organised, good levels of attention to detail and able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Confident attitude and able to work independently and remotely.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, Office 365 and databases.

£22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
