Customer Account Manager

Home based - But travel to Wales and Lake District is required on an occasional basis to build client relationships.

Salary - up to 45k plus annual bonus
Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to deliver the sales plan for my clients branded product into third party customers, focusing on the independent retail sector as well as other identified routes to market.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Leading the entry and roll out of the branded product into new channels
  • Responsible for identifying and delivering commercial opportunities which are profitable and in line with the business strategy
  • Development of customer relationships with wholesalers and / or store buyers
  • Effectively utilising business relationships within FM and networking crossfunctionally to ensure targets are achieved or exceeded
  • Value propositions/Customer plans in place.
  • Working to support/deliver marketing and customer business plans to ensure long term partnerships and growth
  • Lead cross sale opportunities with existing company customers that may have an outlet for the branded product
  • Maintain and review processes to add value whilst ensuring tasks and enquiries are dealt with effectively and efficiently to enable flexibility to implement business/market demands
  • Deliver commercial returns/profitability in line with budget as a minimum
  • Ensure secure and stable longterm relationships are in place delivering profitability
  • Supporting a continuous improvement culture across the organisation bringing examples of best practices and new ideas
Qualifications and experience
years business development and account management experience, with a proven track record of building effective relationships

  • Experience in the FMCG/Food sector, particularly selling to wholesalers
  • Commercial and Financial acumen
  • Evidence of taking a new product to market, identifying creative solutions to deliver plans and being resilient to set backs
  • Experience of having to rely on own skills and resources to deliver end to end sales from contributing marketing positioning to following up sales to ensure effective delivery and customer service
