The Role

Duties and Responsibilities

As our Craft and Design Tutor you will be expected to

:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging craft and design sessions, that cater to diverse skill levels and learning styles

:

Teach a variety of crafting techniques such as têxtiles, painting, ceramics, papercraft incorporating both traditional and modern methods

:

Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and develop their unique artistic voice

:

-
Offer demonstrations, hands on activities, and practical exercises to help learners grasp concepts and hone their skills effectively

:

-
Provide constructive feedback and individualised guidance to learners, helping them overcome challenges and refine their craftsmanship

:

-
Manage classroom materials, tools and equipment, ensuring a safe and organised learning environment

:

Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings to share ideas, experiences, and best practices

:

Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and assessments as required

:

Participate in community outreach and promotional activities to attract new learners and promote the programme

:

-
Ensure that company policies, procedures and core values are embedded in session delivery. e.g. Equal Opportunities, health and safety etc

:

-
To work with colleagues to formulate aims and objectives for craft and design, that have coherence and relevance to the needs of learners and to the principles of the programme

:

-
To ensure that inclusive learning initiatives are implemented in craft and design and that effective support is provided for learners

:

-
To contribute to the development of key skills within the department

:

-
To undertake any other duties assigned by the senior management team.

Please note:

All successful applicants will be required to undertake a disclosure and barring service check at the relevant level and complete company mandatory training in Health and safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality and Diversity, plus any other training as required by the company for the continued operation and development of the business.

You will need a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle available and insured for business use with no convictions or convictions pending.
