The Centre for Population Health Sciences at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is seeking a research fellow to contribute to the development and support of a programme of high quality research on the commercial determinants of health.

The SPECTRUM Consortium is an ambitious programme of research, knowledge exchange and public engagement focusing on the commercial determinants of health relation to tobacco, alcohol, ultra-processed foods and other commodities.


The Opportunity:

The role will include analysing survey data, conducting qualitative research in addition to conducting impact-related activities where appropriate. The post holder will produce material for publication and dissemination and engage with Consortium co-investigators, collaborators and partners throughout.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience of survey design and analysis & familiarity with and experience of using quantitative data analysis software
  • Experience of conducting literature reviews
  • Excellent ability to work with an interdisciplinary research team
  • Experience of working with partners outside of academia including in the voluntary and public sectors
  • Knowledge of public health topics and familiarity with key concepts and issues relating to the commercial determinants of health
