Automation Software Engineer Role Available
Are you a Software Engineer with over 5 years' experience? Have you a keen interest and experience in electrical and control system engineering?

This role covers all aspects of control system engineering from requirement specification through to design, testing and commissioning.


Salary:
£43,500 to £56,000 DoE


Location:

Based in Eastleigh - Some flexibility on hybrid working available and may involve some travel both in the UK and overseas.


Automation Software Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and commission automation projects for our equipment in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Reviewing and establishing the project scope and deliverables
  • Design and write PLC, HMI and SCADA control system software
  • Produce required documentation (e.g. functional design specifications, software specifications, manuals)
  • Documented software testing
  • Carry out testing and acceptance with customer.
  • Provide support for the onsite commissioning and qualification of the equipment.
  • Commissioning of systems
  • Train customer maintenance and operator staff
  • Implement changes on site to electrical panels when required.

Automation Software Engineer Essential Experience:


  • Proven background in control systemsrelated software design for process/equipment control in the Life Sciences industry or a similar process control industry.
  • Five plus years of relevant software design experience
  • Experience in the following areas
  • Siemens TIA PLC programming using LAD/STL, Siemens Step 7 PLC Programming using LAD/STL, Siemens TIA HMI configuration, Siemens WinCC Flexible HMI configuration, Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs, control system testing.
  • A good working knowledge of standard software products is assumed i.e., Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with or knowledge of the following areas would be considered an advantage
  • Siemens TIA PLC Programming, iFIX SCADA, WinCC, VB, VBA, MS SQL, electrical hardware design, commissioning and qualification activities and some understanding of LifeScience industry regulatory requirements i.e., GAMP, FDA.
  • Relevant HNC/D
  • Experience of Automation project delivery across the entire project lifecycle
  • Experience of commissioning and fault finding on industrial equipment
