About the role

The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance (SQA) Service require a full time (37 hour) Business Officer to support within the Child Protection (CP) Team.


The base for this role will be Fawcett House, Cambridge however consideration will be made for a Huntingdon base, if required, with the expectation of travel within the County and a mix of home and office working.

This role will include the convening, minuting and administration of the Child Protection Conferences.


You will need to be flexible in your approach to work, as one of your main duties will be travelling to and minuting Child Protection Conferences across Cambridgeshire.

What will you be doing?
You will need to have the ability to summarise and produce information in a concise manner.

Minutes are recorded on a template and full training and support will be given in order to complete this task therefore previous minute taking experience is desirable.


This is a varied role and will also include the processing of papers and reports in preparation for these meetings and reviews and the distribution of paperwork.


You will need good administration skills and the ability to prioritise as this is a fast-paced role that includes arranging meetings and reviews to meet with statutory deadlines and liaising with external agencies such as the Police and Schools.


Along with diary management, collation of paperwork for CP Conferences, ensuring that meetings and events are properly planned, minuted and tracked, so extensive administration experience is essential.

You will work as part of a busy team so must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

You will need to work on your own initiative; keep calm under pressure and be able to work to tight deadlines.

You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and be able to use databases.
