    Main duties of the job

It is critical for safe and effective patient care that clinicians play an active role in the development, training and optimization of the EPR system. Two clinical digital fellows are being recruited to work with the digital, clinical and managerial teams.
The post-holders will provide high-quality clinical leadership to the EPR programme as members of the clinical information team. They will join a multidisciplinary team leading the EPR programme.
These post will support the Trust to deliver the Epic electronic patient record (EPR). This represents a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in digital healthcare as well as providing valuable experience and continued clinical development in clinical practice. It will be enjoyable, relevant to the future practice of any doctor and will enhance professional and personal development. The roles report directly to the joint Chief Medical Information Officers (CMIO's) with whom they will be mentored and agree their work plan and expected outcomes. The post holders will also have a named clinical and educational supervisor for their clinical work.
The post has been created to allow post holders to maintain their clinical skills by combining their digital role approximately half-time with clinical practice in stroke medicine at Colchester hospital.
As a result, the post provides a fantastic opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership, management and information technology skills whilst gaining more clinical experience.
The post holder will have access to all the education facilities offered to doctors in training, as well as attending external learning events and healthcare information management and technology conferences. The fellow will be encouraged to disseminate their work nationally and internationally
