Role
To line manage the day to day activities of the Mobile Technicians in the designated area. To plan and coordinate the schedule/unscheduled activity for our Mobile Technician Network.

To ensure that all activities are scheduled to optimise the mobile technicians' production and travel time is kept to a minimum.

To ensure that the Fraikin above operations are compliant, driving cost reduction and enhancing the Vehicle Off Road (VOR) performance.


Job Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To have direct line management of a team of Mobile Technicians, to include 121s, appraisals, time and attendance management, recruitment and induction.
  • To deliver a planned forward schedule of events for daily management to include all scheduled /unscheduled work.
  • To be the first of contact for the Mobile Technicians for any queries or issues.
  • To ensure that all Mobile Technicians are fully equipped with the appropriate training, PPE, tool s and resources required to fulfil their duties.
  • To ensure that all scheduled events are carried out in line with legal and customer O'license requirements.
  • To undertake regular liaison with our customers and mobile technicians to arrange suitable date / time and coordinate all repairs and maintenance bookings.
  • To ensure that all legal documentation is received within satisfactory timescales.
  • To be responsible for the ordering of parts required in order to support the Mobile Technicians.
  • To ensure that all job card and activity sheets administration is completed by the Mobile Technicians correctly and timely.
  • To ensure that the mobile technician attends the vehicle as planned and in the agreed timescales.
  • To ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is managed on a best cost and efficient basis.

Person Specification (Qualifications, knowledge, Skills and Experience)

  • Previous experience within a busy maintenance control room environment dealing with scheduling /maintenance management of vehicles.
  • Previous experience of working with Mobile or Workshop Technicians.
  • Previous Team Leader experience.
  • Knowledge of VOSA requirements.
  • Technical knowledge of light and heavy commercial vehicles and good understanding of vehicle engineering and road transport law.
  • Knowledge of repair times and parts cost.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills (both verbally and in writing), as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems, database, word processing, spreadsheets & audit process.
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Ideally worked with mobile or workshop technicians on a daily basis.
  • To be flexible in attitude and in providing solutions to problems.
