Environmental & Sustainability Manager Opportunity

REMOTE/ HOME WORKING WITH FREQUENT TRAVEL AROUND THE UK REQUIRED
Our client is a market leading manufacturer & distributor of agricultural products through the whole of the UK.

With a number of sites located across the country this position requires regular visits and attendance at their various UK facilities.

Our client is a market leading manufacturer & distributor of agricultural products throughout the whole of the UK.

Our client has incredible values and is looking for a likeminded individual to join the team operating as the Environmental & SustainabilityManager.


WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?

  • You will be tasked with full Coordinational tasks relating to all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, conservation and renewable energy
  • You will be leading the implementation of environmental policies and practices.
  • It is your task to Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with UK, European Union and international regulation and legislation.
  • You will be required to laise and discuss issues and solutions with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies and competent bodies respectively
  • You will be required to carry out audits, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies on a regular basis
  • It is your duty to carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organisation's environmental risks and financial costs
  • You will be required to promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues.
  • You will be driving the best possible practice in areas of sustainability as agreed with business leads.
  • It is your duty to constantly maintain environmental management system.
  • You will be coordinating consultations on environmental matters.
  • It is your duty to manage relations with directors, senior management and internal staff.
  • Training staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities is a key factor within this role
  • You will be working alongside and closely with all site mangers across the business to ensure that all environmental standards are implemented. Communication between yourself and all relevant departments is of utmost importance
  • It is your duty to assist in review of sustainability and environmental considerations for business and site projects.
  • It is a part of your role to fully ensure a uniform approach across our business in achieving and maintaining ISO 1400
  • You are required to fully participate in environmental education and research.
  • You will be supporting in the negotiation of environmental service agreements.
  • You are required to relevant identification and review of commercial opportunities presented by sustainable solutions.
  • It is your duty to write precise and accurate environmental reports.
  • You are required to consistently track organisational sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Previous experience working within an environmental or sustainability role is a requirement
  • Full willingness to travelling across the UK to different sites. Some nights spent away from home may also be required within this role
  • Full valid driving license is a necessity
  • IEMA certification in Environmental management or another relevant qualification is required for this position

DESIRABALE SKILLS (NOT REQUIREMENTS)

  • Minimum of 3 years working within an environmental or sustainability position
  • A national diploma in environmental management
  • An environmental degree in any form
