    Your primary responsibility will be overseeing line management, talent development, career framework implementation, and chapter cultivation. Through strategic initiatives and partnerships, you'll enhance our engineering capabilities to industry-leading standards while bolstering our reputation for technological excellence.

    As a technology evangelist, you'll champion innovation both internally and externally, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members. Your leadership will be fundamental in steering the future of Engineering, driving strategy and innovation across our technology landscape to maintain our position as a retail sector leader.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive line management, ensuring the well-being, performance, and career development of our Software Engineers.
    • Spearhead talent development initiatives, including training programs, mentorship opportunities, and skill enhancement workshops.
    • Collaborate with people services and senior leadership to establish a robust Career Framework, outlining clear career paths and competencies for software engineers.
    • Lead the evolution of our Engineering chapter, fostering knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, offering constructive feedback, and creating individual development plans.
    • Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, cultivating a culture of belonging and respect.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to talent management and career development.
    • Lead recruitment efforts alongside Principal Engineers and recruitment teams, attracting top engineering talent.
    • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, excellence, and transparency.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
    • Contribute to Operating Model/Team Structures and oversee People movement.

    Essential Skills


    • Extensive experience in line management of autonomous and highly skilled Engineers.
    • Proven track record in recruitment and onboarding of new engineers.
    • Experience in chapter and talent development.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, inspiring and motivating software engineers.
    • Successful track record in recruiting and onboarding top engineering talent.
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities across all levels of the organization.
    • Familiarity with modern tech stacks like React, Node, TypeScript or Javascript and AWS.
    • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

    Desirable Skills


    • Experience working in a multichannel retail and/or manufacturing environment.
