Description
Allen Lane are supporting a Local Authority in the Essex area to fill their vacancy for a Locum Planning Lawyer.
Looking for an experienced, qualified solicitor in Planning, working in Local Authorities, who can hit the ground running.Responsibilities:
Delivering top-notch Legal Services to the Council and external clients concerning planning law and related areas, while meeting professional standards agreed upon by the service.
Handling a workload focused on planning law matters while also having a broad understanding of other legal work undertaken by the District Council.
Offering innovative solutions to support any council service changes and fulfill officer requirements effectively.Providing timely guidance on various complex legal issues.
Safeguarding the interests of the service within the council as a whole.
Advising and assisting elected members appropriately.
Collaborating within the Legal and Democratic Services team, offering support and advice as necessary.
QualificationsAdmitted qualified solicitor or barrister with an understanding of local government;Degree in law or equivalent degree and first time pass in Common Professional Examination (CPE) or Graduate Diploma (GDL) (Law conversions).A current practising certificate or eligibility for a current practising certificate.
This is a 6-month contract, paying £55/hr inside iR35.
