The Nuclear Medicine service at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust consists of two Nuclear Medicine departments across both Queen's Hospital and King George Hospital sites. The service currently maintains 3 gamma cameras (2 x SPECT and a new 32-slice SPECT CT which is being installed in May We run a dedicated manufacturing radiopharmacy with 2 new isolators that supplies both BHRUT and external customers with 99mTc radiopharmaceuticals. We manage a therapy service that includes I-131 and Ra-223 serving a population of approximately 750,000 patients. The service also supports a wide range of clinical trials. A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 8A clinical scientist to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the Nuclear Medicine service including QA, radiopharmacy (training will be provided), R&D and external contract work. This post requires an MSc from an accredited centre as well as HCPC registration as a clinical scientist. They will need experience in Nuclear Medicine Physics appropriate to the role. Applicants should be in the process of applying for MPE status. Applicants without the necessary experience are also encouraged to apply as they may be considered for appointment at Band 7.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.
