    Group Leader for Age 10 and Above - Summer Camp - Chislehurst, London

    Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:30

    Salary: £547.27 – £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications (Contracts for February Half Term 2023 will be based on 2023 wages, with 2024 wages effective from 1st April.)

    Reporting to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office. Barracudas prioritizes safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, expecting all staff to share this commitment.

    GROUP LEADER DUTIES

    • Set up and maintain an appealing base room for children, ensuring tidiness and equipment organization
    • Follow policies to ensure a fun and safe environment for children
    • Implement daily activity schedule as promised by Barracudas
    • Plan and deliver various structured activities with enthusiasm
    • Provide active supervision and attention to children throughout the day
    • Personalize activities based on children's interests
    • Collaborate with colleagues to conduct sessions
    • Ensure children's welfare and safety
    • Supervise equipment use during sessions
    • Encourage maximum participation from children

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience or qualifications working with secondary school-aged children
    • Minimum age of 18 by contract start date
    • Eligibility to work in the UK
    • Positive, organized, with excellent communication skills and ability to adapt
    • Adept at handling unexpected challenges in childcare settings
    • Enhanced DBS check required
    • Attendance at Virtual Assessment Event for new staff
    • Completion of Online Training annually
    • Experience in managing challenging behavior or willingness to learn
    • Attendance at Induction Training Day
    • Assistance with end-of-camp activities

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure Health and Safety compliance
    • Organize age-appropriate activities
    • Promote new activities and follow timetable directions
    • Ensure children behave safely and communicate effectively
    • Follow camp procedures, including registration and safety guidelines
    • Act as a positive role model for children
    • Report Child Protection concerns
    • Accommodate children with additional needs
    • Work with SSI for inclusivity and discussion
    • Participate in Skills Builder sessions if needed
    • Support swimming sessions if required
    • Perform tasks as necessary within the organization's objectives
