Role
Our client exists to advance and promote the safe, reliable, and efficient operations of the railways, by improving the technical and general skills, knowledge, and competence of those engaged in the operations of the railways.
Duties and responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding End-Point Assessment services to assigned apprentices and employers.
- Undertake End-Point assessment activities with integrity and impartiality to offer a fair, reliable, and consistent assessment experience for all apprentices and employers.
- Manage assigned caseload to ensure all stages of the EPA journey are completed in a timely fashion and to the expected standard.
- Objectively scrutinise their assessors in practice, producing evidence for the reviews and reports on assessor performance and judgments over time.
- Maintain an excellent working knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and assessment plans relevant to the area of expertise.
- Assists EPA Manager and SAM to conduct internal quality assurance activities.
- Ensures assessment processes are being correctly applied ensuring fairness of assessment decisions.
- Assist the Lead IV in quality assuring and sampling training and assessment decisions and processing certificates where required.
- Provide accurate and timely reports of assessment and monitoring activity, customer and learner feedback.
- Compliance with and keep up to date with current EPA practice and key stakeholders e.g. ESFA, IFATE, OFQUAL.
- Actively participate in moderation, standardisation and development activities and meetings as required including a practice of peer assessment.
- Manage own data entry: inputting, filing, and monitoring. Liaise with other departments to facilitate a smooth customer journey.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of internal policies and processes, functionality of The Hub Develop knowledge of the wider products and services
- Undertake onsite and remote invigilation duties firsthand to keep informed about the detail of the delivery of the assessment methods.
- Complete and maintain all required assessment and regulatory paperwork, using the appropriate systems. Submit as required evidence of work for internal and external quality assurance.
- Assist EPA Manager and SAM in training and standardisation exercises with assessors.
- Actively participate in moderation, standardisation and development activities and meetings as required including a practice of peer assessment.
- Manage own data entry: inputting, filing, and monitoring.
- Understand processes such as the Malpractice and Maladministration, the Risk and Issue Management Policy, Validity and the Conflict of Interest Policies to ensure they can monitor and correctly engage with what they observe in their practice.
- Be committed to Health and Safety awareness, Safeguarding, and Prevent duties towards learners.
Skills and experience
- D32, D33, AI or level 3 TAQA qualification.
- Client / partner / stakeholder relationship management.
- Quality systems and processes.
- Help support and coordinate numerous qualifications projects according to the growth plans of the EPA service.
- Communicate effectively and confidently in speaking and writing, including conveying complex information succinctly and communicating in a customer
- Fosters an environment where others can feel respected and can flourish, with the ability to influence, supervise and motivate staff effectively with or without direct line responsibility.
- Can work with and monitor the quality standards of external consultants (e.g Assessors) to ensure consistent delivery in regard to validity, reliability, comparability, manageability and minimising bias.
