Birkbeck, University of London, is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a Head of School, Birkbeck Business School to join our Faculty of Business and Law.

As one of eight Schools, as the Head of School, Birkbeck Business School, you will have the opportunity to work closely alongside the Executive Dean of Faculty, Vice Chancellor and senior colleagues as part of the University's leadership team, and make your ambitions a reality.

As the Head of School, Birkbeck Business School, your role will include:

Providing strategic leadership, aligning the School's goals with Faculty and University objectives
Overseeing daytoday management of academic staff and efficient use of resources
Developing and implementing processes for academic staff review, workload allocation, and mentoring
Identifying opportunities for growth in teaching, research, and external partnerships
Working with the Vice Chancellor and other leadership team members on specific projects and objectives.

We are looking for a Head of School who:

Has a strong track record of academic achievement in a discipline relevant to the School
Demonstrates strong academic leadership in both teaching and research
Has administrative/management experience in a higher education institution
Has a good understanding of strategic issues affecting UK and international higher education
Has the ability to inspire and foster innovation and initiatives in research, education, and public engagement.

Terms of Appointment

Fixed term in role for a period of five years (with a possible extension) after which, an open-ended appointment will be to an academic role at the appropriate level.
